DRAMA

Our 2008, 2009 Student Drama Production will be 42nd Street

Our Drama department is directed by Shannon Lowrie. The focus in our drama department is musical theater. We have drama classes available for students ages 5 to 18. The department produces one to three musical theater productions per year. Past productions include; “Annie,” “Westside Story,” “Oliver,” and is currently working on "Into The Woods".

When students are involved with our drama department they not only have the opportunity to be an actor in the shows but are able to learn about all the aspects of what takes place behind the scenes as well. They can assist and learn about the technical side of drama such as learning how to work a sound board or do lighting. The students assist with sets and props and can earn the opportunity to be a student director or assistant stage manager. There are many career paths a student can take in the field of the arts and it is our goal to introduce them to as many venues as possible.

We also have an acting class on Friday evenings that is available for ages 11-up. This class is taught by Joseph Moss, an artist in residence at P.C.P.A.
